What We Do

Teater Satu runs a number of initiatives that look to broaden the pipeline of arts at many levels and fields. Teater Satu is also working to bring about real transformation by:

  • Speaking our voices and voices of the voiceless┬áthrough the works of performing art,
  • Facilitating daily trainings of performing arts to broaden the knowledge of any interested learners about arts and encouraging them to produce or participate in the making of art works and creative process,
  • Conducting workshops on directing, acting, stage management, organizational management not only for its own members but also high-school theater clubs in Bandar Lampung,
  • Establishing Panggung Perempuan (The Stage of Women) since 2003, organized by Imas Sobariah, which is meant be the place to empower female performing artists in Lampung to learn about arts and publish their works,
  • Partnerships with local, national and international organizations and institutions on creating a play and conducting researches and internships,
  • Conducting researches on directing, acting and fitness methods to later enrich and create a method that suits to be applied for its own members and shared to other amateur theater clubs,
  • Regularly conducting plays every year based on the previously conducted researches on directing, acting and stage management in order to create a quality performance,
  • Speaking at schools to give trainings on writing literature, articles, essays, and journalisms,
  • Empowering its actors through scholarships programs as a form of human resource development programs,
  • Actively participating in national and international events,
  • Publishing works of its members, encouraging its members to be actively participate in social issues through their writings.
